DIY: Galaxy Shoes

I got these old and ugly (according to my boyfriend) clogs which already lost a few of its studs and decided to give it a make over. I don’t know why I bought them. Must’ve been a slave to the shoe trend. Since galaxy prints are the trend these days, you know what happens next…
What you’ll need:
- newspapers
- black acrylic spray paint
- glitters (dark blue, light blue, violet, green)
- clear dry glue
- foam brush
- clear gloss acrylic spray
- dipping cups
- masking tape/clear tape
- water
- gloves

I just noticed, my glitters and glue… all Best Buy. Gotta love NBS!

Le poor girl can’t find a foam brush. DIY!
Instructions:
- Prepare your work area by putting newspapers on the floor/table
- (optional) Spray the bottom of your clogs with black acrylic spray paint to cover the wooden color. A black base will make your galaxy pop more. Let dry.
- (optional) Cover the bottom part with a masking tape leaving exposed the area where you’ll be applying your galaxy. Skip this part if you have a steady hand.
- In separate containers/dipping cups, mix 1 part water and 3 parts glue with one color of glitter. Make sure you make a separate cup mixture for each color of glitter you have.
- With your foam brush, apply the glue+water+glitter mixture on your shoes. When you’re switching glitter colors, DON’T change/rinse your foam brush. Gradation is important in making your galaxy look realistic. It is good that your glitters mix on the shoe. Let dry.
- Spray with clear glossy acrylic paint. Let dry.

I think I got carried away with the glitter application :) The black underneath should be a bit visible…

But meh, still cute and all sparkly!
